Milner Ecology Ltd is keen to promote environmental best practice wherever possible and has contributed to several publications.

  • Milner Ecology contributed reptile mitigation data to a seminar at the IEEM Autumn Conference. The seminar discussed the historical and recent changes in reptile mitigation techniques and the success rates of various methods of reptile conservation.
  • Milner Ecology contributed information on the Globe Way, Buckley great crested newt habitat creation scheme to a Special Edition of the Countryside Jobs Service featuring habitat management and conservation projects with an emphasis on Biodiversity.
  • As part of the effort to engage with the local community during the Pannal to Nether Kellet 94km gas pipeline Ben contributed to an article to an edition of the Dalesman magazine. The article explained the methods used to minimise ecological impacts of the pipeline i.e. pre-construction survey, re-routing around sensitive habitats and capture and exclusion programmes.   • During the Pannal to Nether Kellet pipeline Ben designed and implemented a complex silt control system involving multi-cell settling lagoons and to enable remedial works at the River Lune. The mitigation measures won a National Grid Rowan Tree environmental best practice award for the project.
