SERVICES: Extended Phase 1 Habitat Survey and Japanese Knotweed Mitigation

 

Japanese Knotweed LeafAn extended Phase 1 Habitat survey of factory in Huddersfield adjacent to the River Colne. The surveys were undertaken to fulfil a planning condition relating to potential otter and water vole presence. The surveys were undertaken on behalf of Peak Associates Ltd.

The survey discovered a significant Japanese knotweed infestation. Japanese knotweed is a non-native invasive species listed on Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

In order to discharge the duty of care, a detailed method statement was produced to manage and control the species in accordance with Environment Agency best practice.
